Expert Legal Advice for Dispute Settlement Agreement

Dispute Settlement Legal Services
A Settlement Agreement is for those looking to bring a dispute to an end on binding, agreed terms. There are a range of situations in which Settlement Agreements are used, often it is where parties do not want to follow what could be a long, drawn out process, or to avoid certain processes or possible claims.
An agreement to waive legal rights can only be binding if properly implemented. Complex issues will arise, such as staying litigation, costs, payment terms etc. We have an experienced disputes team who are specialists in litigation issues.
The advice we give will include consideration of all losses. The full contractual and relational scenario will need to be professionally considered. Confidentially is also usually important. There may also be clauses included preventing derogatory comments.
How long will it take?
It usually only takes a few days to finalise a Settlement Agreement. If necessary, one can be prepared in a few hours at extra charge.
We will advise you fully on all the implications of a Settlement Agreement, including drafting and Court filing, as necessary.

Money Matters
This service is for our drafting a form of agreement for ending a Court-based dispute, and deploying it in Court if required.
If the Court’s endorsement of the agreement is required (which depends on the precise circumstances) there is likely to be a Court Fee payable – and if we are asked to obtain the Court’s endorsement we will also require that fee to be paid in advance.
Although suitable prices may be quoted for those additional services, as they arise, the low fixed price for this service does not include our involvement in the negotiation, nor the implementation, of the terms agreed – in particular not handling any payments.
