I am nothing but impressed with the service that Mounteney have provided to me. Specifically Ian McKenna at the Heald Green branch. I obtained a simple fixed fee quote (with entirely predictable disbursements) for a conveyancing process. A few niggles cropped up but Ian advised me through these additional pitfalls and engaged in additional correspondence with the other party's solicitor, without any mention of additional costs. So the highly competitive and surprisingly low fixed fee costing was honoured and the process was streamlined and crystal clear throughout.What was most impressive was that while the other party's solicitor found cause to create significant week long delays in taking action, each time that they contacted Mounteney, then I had an email within hours.Once I had signed then the transfer was complete before I had driven home.If you are looking for absolutely clarity and a streamlined process, then if my experience is anything to go on, you will be in safe hands.I am happy to strongly recommend their service. 5 stars from me!!

We recently sold and bought a new property, Anna B was our solicitor (both sale and purchase). Our chain was very long and there were several factors causing issues and delays. I can not speak highly enough of Anna Beavers at Mounteney, she helped us with our recent house sale and purchase, when I say helped, she guided us through it expertly, explaining things as went along, Anna was very professional but also down to earth and kept us up to date with progress. One thing that stood out for us was how responsive Anna was, ALWAYS getting in touch when she said she would, emailing back very promptly to enquiries, chased other conveyancers when needed, this was a huge positive for us and made the whole experience so much better than we thought. We make a £10 charge for providing a solicitor-certified copy of a single page document, this does not apply to certified copy LPA’s, which we have found an exception to our general approach because:

1. The documents are generally very long, and every page needs separately certifying by a solicitor

2. Those wanting the certified copy LPA’s often require particular wording, that may mean we are unable to use our standard stamps, which entails more work in handwriting

3. Those wanting the certified copy LPA’s often require multiple copies

All these requirements take a relatively long time, and therefore we have decided to make an exceptional charge for this type of copy, as outlined.

Please note, due to the above, these will usually take at least two days to be completed and ready for collection – please ask our receptionists for time scales. They will also be able to advise you of which branch has a solicitor who may be able to complete a copy quicker if it is an emergency.

How long will it take?

We don’t generally do anything for new clients until our process of client retention has concluded – this involves agreeing the scope of what we are doing for the price (our terms are below), setting-up our client record, and producing the bill (payment in advance is required for all new clients).

After that, the production of the copy is a job that we can undertake in less than an hour once we can schedule it in our workflow, that can depend on how busy we are at any particular time. We normally give production of certified copy LPA’s priority, and produce them within a day or two of being able to.

Your supplier is unregulated Mounteney Legal Services Limited, that does not charge VAT

We charge £30 per certified copy; if you want more than one such copy, we may offer some “volume discount” off the linear sum – please ask for a quote.
