Land Registry Form ID1

Description

HM Land Registry require individual people who are not professional conveyancers to prove their identity on an ID1 form, before being willing to accept submissions from that individual person.

Non-professional conveyancers also generally pay larger HMLR fees than professionals – a combination of which factors usually makes it cheaper and easier in our experience for non-professionals to instruct a professional conveyancer to act for them, i.e. rather than bothering with an ID1.

Nevertheless, if the individual person wants us to certify their ID1 for them, then we are willing to do so – you need to bring your completed form, a passport-type photo of yourself, and your passport to our offices, for us to complete and endorse.

HM Land Registry invariably ring us when you submit your form to them, to check our endorsement is genuine.

How long will it take?

We don’t generally do anything for new clients until our process of client retention has concluded – this involves agreeing the scope of what we are doing for the price (our terms are below), setting-up our client record, and producing the bill (payment in advance is required for all new clients).

After that, the production of the ID1 form is a job that we can undertake in less than an hour once we can schedule it in our workflow, that can depend on how busy we are at any particular time. We would not usually take-on a job for which we could not engage within about a working week.
