This page outlines the basis on which we charge for bespoke legal work that falls outside our standard published services.
Sometimes a legal issue does not fit neatly within a standard service page. If you need help with a matter that is not currently listed on our website, Mounteney Solicitors may be able to act for you on an arranged fixed fee basis. We will assess the work involved, provide a clear scope in writing, and agree a fixed fee calculated from the estimated time required at the appropriate hourly rate for the member of staff handling your matter.
Money Matters
Our rates from time to time are published in our Price List and are related to the level of qualification and experience of our staff member, always bearing in mind the high overheads of our business beyond wages, including insurance and regulatory compliance that often entails significant commitments beyond what is necessary solely to do the legal work itself.
Because of the overheads associated with our doing anything at all in general it is rarely worth-our-while to agree to do anything at all for less than around £150.

This is the basis on which we charge for engagements where we have agreed to act for a fixed fee. Our charges will be based on our estimate of the amount of time taken to complete the instructions we accept at the published rates of the level of production executive engaged in fulfilling that work.
