Completing a property transaction after an intervention
Specialist conveyancing to resume and finalise transactions interrupted by intervention.

Completion of Property Transaction After an Intervention
At Mounteney Solicitors, we help clients complete property transactions that have stalled due to regulatory intervention in their original solicitor or conveyancer’s firm.
When a law firm is shut down (or “intervened”) by a regulator, any unfinished transactions are typically left in limbo. Clients may be handed their paperwork and funds by the intervention agent, but no further help is given to move the matter forward. Many conveyancing firms are unwilling to take on this type of case due to the added complications and the disruption to their usual processes.
We take a different approach. Our team applies legal knowledge and experience to each case rather than relying on rigid systems. This allows us to assess and take over part-completed transactions that others may refuse. We regularly assist clients in situations where their original firm can no longer act and the transaction needs to be picked up and seen through to completion.
We also consider any potential claims that may be made to the regulator’s compensation fund or the previous firm’s insurers, which may help to recover some or all of the costs involved.
If your transaction has been left unfinished due to your solicitor being shut down, we may be able to help get it back on track.

Money Matters
Our service begins with the retrieval and examination of your existing case file to determine the specific steps required to complete the transfer. We charge a preliminary fee, usually £300 plus VAT, to conduct this initial audit.
Following this review, we issue a fixed-fee quote for the remaining work based on our standard conveyancing pricing. As part of the service, we also identify any opportunities for you to claim your costs back from professional insurers or the regulatory compensation fund, subject to their limitations.

We will ascertain the scenario, advise, then engage to obtain the unfinished conveyancing file, review what needs to be done in order to complete the registration of the transaction, then implement that work and report the result.
Your supplier is SRA-regulated Mounteney Solicitors, that charges VAT some customers may be able to reclaim.
